The next meeting will be on Wednesday, Nov 12,  2008.

The meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn at Cleveland Airport located at 4181 West 150th Street in Cleveland, Ohio .  A cash bar will be available beginning at 5:30 p.m.  Dinner will be served promptly at 6:00 p.m.   We will have 2 speakers this month, Brett Jones, who is the Director of the newly formed Regional Transportation Institute Workforce & Economic Development Division of Tri-C, and Brad Berkebile from Continental Airlines.  Brett Jones was the former local manager of Kamden, so he is quite familiar with our group.  He will be sharing with us the new transportation program Tri-C if offering.  Brad Berkebile will be discussing cargo security, or at least as much as he is allowed to within TSA guidelines!   Reservations must be made no later than Friday, Nov 7, 2008.  Please email Teresa Smith @ tmsmith1960@aol.com . The Holiday Inn does not appreciate it when we have to change our count at the last minute so PLEASE RSVP no later than Nov 7. Additionally, if you make a reservation and don’t make the meeting, the CFA is still responsible for the cost of your dinner, so please make sure you attend or send someone in your place!  Cost as follows is payable at the door.

ELECTION - 2008

Now that the U.S. general election is over, it is time for the CFA general election!  Remember, you must be a currently paid member for 2008, in good standing to be eligible to vote.  Ballots will be available at the sign-in desk before the meeting.  Please fill out your ballot and turn it in to Teresa or Karen before the meeting starts.  Results will be tallied during the meeting, and results announced before the end of the meeting.

CFA SCHOLARSHIP

This is the last reminder to anyone who is interested in submitting an application for our annual scholarship award.  Again, you must be a paid member for 2008 in good standing.  A member may submit one application for a person currently enrolled in a higher education program.  All applications MUST be received by Karen Cubic no later than 1700, Friday, Nov 7 to be eligible.  You can download an application from our website (just change the dates) @ www.afacle.com ,  If you have any questions, please call Karen Cubic @ Destination Overide @ 440-243-5120.

2008 Christmas Party

Your board and officers have decided to upgrade our annual Christmas party.  This year, it will be held at Bucci’s in Berea on Thursday, Dec 4.  Instead of just finger foods, we will be having a very nice buffet dinner, with 2 top shelf drink tickets, unlimited soft drinks and desert.  We will have a decorated,  private room, with our own wait staff.  Again, this party will be for 2008 paid members in good standing.   Please RSVP to Karen Cubic @ Destination Overide no later than Monday, Dec 1st.
